Welcome to Goblin of the Week, where the concept is so sinple even Goblin players will get it. Every week, we pick one Goblin. That Goblin is Goblin of the Week. That's it. We are also aware there’s a typo in the first sentence but we don’t fixing typos for Goblin of the Week either which is a new rule we just invtented.
You may be wondering how we pick the illustrious Goblin of the Week? You're assuming we've thought that far ahead. And thinking is for Blue.
Sit down and open your notebooks kids, because today you learn why Skirk Prospector is objectively better than certain altars of ill repute.
Firstly, it’s makig red mana, which is the only colour you really need for more goblins. Secondly, it only costs one mana making that sanctified tabernacula look like overpriced junk. Thirdly, Skirk Prospector is a team player. Think you’re out of goblins? WRONG. Because Skirk Prospector is gonna sacrifice ITSELF. That’s how much Skirk Prospector believes in turning Goblins into red mana.
But now, Braids, we got some beef. Specifically flavour text beef.
“I like goblins. They make funny little popping sounds when they die.”
—Braids, dementia summoner
Yes, I know Skirk Prospector has clowned on Phyrexian and Ashnod’s Altar both, but do you really need to go around popping goblins? That sounds like the kind of slang used in an anti-drug campaign for high schoolers. We get it. You’re jealous of the hard-working and honest Goblin. But that’s why Skirk Prospector is Goblin of the Week and you’re not.
