Welcome to Goblin of the Week, where the concept is so sinple even Goblin players will get it. Every week, we pick one Goblin. That Goblin is Goblin of the Week. That's it. We are also aware there’s a typo in the first sentence but we don’t fixing typos for Goblin of the Week either which is a new rule we just invtented.
You may be wondering how we pick the illustrious Goblin of the Week? You're assuming we've thought that far ahead. And thinking is for Blue.
Welcome friends to the next goblin of the Week. As any good Goblin player knows, where there’s one goblin, there’s two. Then four. Then eight. Then Krenko eats removal. But who will be our illustrious sophmorblin?
With the Hobbit set breathing dfown our necks and bringing a bevvy of new goblin cards and surprisingly few songs about trees, you’d be wise to assume that this GotW would be drawn from the pages of Tolkien. But you’d be wrong, nerd. Instead, this week our goblin of the week is…

Now, I know what you’re thinking. It’s a Sorcery and not a creature. But please consider that also it says goblin on it and that’s the word that counts. It also turns one goblin into two goblins by killing it, which is something that any good Goblin player can appreciate.
Matt Cavotta’s art deftly captures the Lorwyn flavour* of goblin, complete with piggy features, horns and hooves. Last week we spoke about goblins that steal your children and eat their thumbs. Probably should have saved it for these creepy swamp gobs.
The Lorwyn boggarts recently reappeared in Lorwyn: Eclipse and these black and red goblins push sacrifice synergies, reanimation, a deep-seated hatred for elves, and rogue kindred things which is a word that only matters when it appears next to goblion.
First Printing: Morningtide
Notable Reprints: Just one, in Modern Masters. But if you sac that printing you can put two goblin tokens into play.
(*Please do not taste-test the goblins)
Join us next week when we pick another different Goblin.
