Goblin Art-illery 002

While our trumpeted praise of everyone’s favourite creature type should satisfy even the most rapacious of appetites, we have yet more Goblin Goodness to Gorge Upon. For every time we select the Goblin of the Week, we also for some reason sought to maintain journalistic integrity and reached out to the artists for comment. And some of them get back to us. I know. We’re as shocked as you. But please, read on to hear direct from the brush jockeys and paintmancers who brought your favourite little creeps to life.

For this Goblin Art-illery, we revisit our look at Goblin Cadets with art from Jerry Tiritilli. It certainly recontextualises some of our more war crimey thoughts on the card.

Jerry said “I liked that card. The idea of naive goblin cadets lost in some unpleasant environment and not knowing which direction to go, was fun. I enjoyed working on it. I never knew what MTG fans thought of it? It’s nice, you making mention of it.”

Which just goes to show, we’re terrible people who are unable to recognise innocence or naivete in art and we feel terrible about it. But not so terrible that we won’t continue to sacrifice Goblins by the cadetload. And Jerry seems like a lovely person.
